Insufficient system resources with Internet Explorer?

I am getting the error that there are insufficient system resources when trying to open ANY application on my system... but wait....

This only occurs when Internet Explorer has been accessed.

I can run the computer forever and have no problems so long as I dont open Internet Explorer. However if I open it for 5 minutes and then close it after a short period of time I will start to receive this error message.

This is a 12-month old computer with plenty of ram (as it runs ANY other program)... the key is that there are no issues so long as I dont open Internet Explorer.

I have tried to use FireFox but this results in the same error. It is OBVIOUSLY a bug however I have tried every anti-virus/registery fix program I can find. Still no success.

I am considering re-formatting/recovering my system to its original settings to resolve as a last result...

comments and help please, surely i'm not the first

Err, never had that problem. I would try going into device manager and disabling any newly installed hardware. If that solves the problem then there may be something wrong with that device, if you are still getting the error, then I would reformat.

You can try this tool to fix it:

Good luck!
increase the size of your virtural memory.
Try the basics, Scandisk, DeFrag, wipe the cash, cookies and history.

If that does not take care of it, you should reload IE.

The only other things I can think of is to get Spybot S%26amp;D, Adaware, and HiJack This! apps. Update and run them all. You could have spyware that is causing this problem as well.

All else fails, use Opera or Firefox, problem solved. ;- )
