Whenever i close internet explorer this thing comes up saying ' Runtime error 217 at 0464FD29&#

This is not a virus, but as far as I can tell most of the community is just as stumped as you as to what it means.

Correction: This error seems to be caused by a corrupt internet Cache. You can fix it by clearing Temporary Internet Files folder for the selected account. Note: you will need to log in as a different account to do this, or the folder will be "in use"

It's not a virus. A corrupt file on your hard drive or a failing stick of RAM is probably the culprit. Run chkdsk on your C drive by typing "chkdsk c: /r /f" in the Start --%26gt; Run dialog to find and fix any errors that may exist.

If that comes up clean, downloading and installing the newest Internet Explorer to catch any corrupt files related to IE.

If that doesn't solve it, then I'd look into getting your RAM checked.

the first two ahead of me put it into words that pretty much describe it.

BTW I would recommend using Firefox...it's a lot better (in my opinion), and I have very few issues with it, not to mention that I notice everything seems to flow along better, and faster!
