Internet explorer help?

I've virus scanned, system scanned, spyware scanned and error scanned my gramps comp, over and over again, but every time we try to load Internet explorer, it'll work for a minute then it'll close itself out and start back at the desktop. We have firefox, and that works just fine, but Internet explorer won't, some one help, whats going on?

Oh, crap, your IE was broke.

First you can try system restore, just restore your system to the time nothing is wrong, and if that cannot work, you need to uninstall the IE, and reinstall it. But I really don't think that will work, since that kind of crap happend to me once. I did the System Restore then everything is fine now!

BTW which version of IE you are using?

Try to reinstall. You can download IE7 from the Microsoft's website.
you may have an internal crash error which solution is to restore your comp from factory settings or you may have a power problem which simply is to replace the power supply but if Firefox works use it. more power to ya
Sounds like internet explorer may have corrupted itself. If you go to your control panel and then to Add/Remove program you can select to Add/Remove Windows Components.

You can then deselect Internet Explorer from the list and uninstall it. When you want to reinstall it you follow the same steps only select Internet Explorer in the list again. You'll need to insert your original Windows system disc.

If you don't have the disc then I'd just suggest that you continue to use Firefox, it's a far superior program anyway.
Try resetting your Internet Explorer to default settings. Sometimes if you have too many add-ons associated with Internet Explorer...it will slow down or crash.

1. On your home page, click Tools in the upper left of your display.

2. Click Internet Options, then click the Advanced Tab.

3. Towards the bottom of the Advanced page, click (Reset) Internet Explorer Settings.

4. Follow any remaining instructions. You will now have a "fresh" copy of Internet Explorer which will run more smoother and efficiently. Just remember that the more bells and whistles you add to IE, the slower it will run...or in your case crash!
