how do you know the connection is fine, perhaps you got a bad ip from the router/isp ect...

start run type this

cmd /k ping www.google.com

does it get ping reply or does it simply time out?
It may be related to your IE plug-ins. Try running IE in safe mode.

Click Start -%26gt; All Programs -%26gt; Accessories -%26gt; System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

If your browser appears to be working properly in Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode, continue with the following steps to help identify which add-on may be causing the problems.

Go to the Add-ON manager and enable each plugin individually until your IE stops working. Once you were able to determined the problem. Proceed to update the plugin from the vendor's site.
