Internet Explorer slow after upgrading to vista home premium and problems with mcafee security cente

I upgraded my laptop to vista home premium from home basic and i'm having some problems. I bought my dell laptop a few days ago and it has 2gb ram and duo processor.

When i load internet explorer, sometime it freezes a little while loading a page and is pretty annoying.

My mcafee security center says that my computer and files is not protected and when i click fix, it says it can't because of an error.

Also when i check task manager, it says my mcafee security center takes up over 50% of the cpu. My computer is slower than when i had home basic. I should have never upgrade.

What can i do? Please help me

Use Firefox, it is easier on your system and should run faster. Besides, everyone already knows it is better.(If not try it because it is) www.getfirefox.com

Windows Vista requires at least one Gigabyte of random access memory.
vista is still new and alot of drivers and programs are going to have problems for awhile until windows fixes all the errors. give it a few months and make sure you update windows everyone so often by going to www.windowsupdate.com

also vista uses a whole hell of alot of memory so your 2 gigs is really only 1 after vista take its portion ...lol

if you have a nvidia graphics card that could be the cause of your slowness since the drivers for nvidia so far arent working on vista. im sure that will soon be fixed good luck and hang in there its not your computer fault its just a software issues that you have to let windows fix. so update as often as you can
I don't know why your internet would be slower, maybe it is a driver glitch like the other person says. But, as to your McAfee problem, make sure you upgraded to the Vista version of McAfee. They will give you the upgraded version for free if you go to there website and explain your problem to a technician. Maybe this will fix your IE problem too. Maybe McAfee firewall is messing with it.

Good luck. Hope this helps.
